  1. I will assume freshwater, if salt water, add an engine flush to drain the gas out of the carb and flush the cooling system.

Add some gasoline stabilizer to the gas tank before the last ride of the year. I like SeaFoam, I run it year round in all my boats.

Run the engine out of gas by pulling the fuel line. Do this before you pull it out of the water.

Once out of the water, drop the engine and let all the water run out.

Drain the lower unit grease, and refill with gear lube. Make sure to check that your plugs have the little teflon gaskets on them before you return them to the lower unit. Tip: put the s***w in the top hole first before you pull out the tube of lube, this will keep the lube from all draining out before you return the lower s***w to position.

Remove the spark plugs and fog the cylinders. Turn the engine over once or twice to distribute the fogging oil.

Disconnect the battery and give it a full charge.

    Putt

  2. run the engine on muffs after you have stabilized the fuel for fifteen minutes.  Then spray Storage sealant into the air filter until the engine cuts out.  Change the oil in the engine and in the lower unit.  Unless it is a two stroke then just change the oil in the lower unit.  Leave the engine trimmed straight up and down.

Next year you may have to use a can of eather to get you engine to fire up by spraying it into the air intake this is normal.

  3. It Depends on whether it is a 2 stroke or 4 stroke....2 stroke engines require that you run a fogging solution through the engine and change the lower unit oil. 4 strokes require that you change engine oil, lower unit oil, run fogging solution through it only if it is carburated, change all filters and ensure that after you run it let it drain fully prior to trimming engine up. If possible keep engine down all winter.

  4. 1.Flush the engine with fresh water. For this use flush muffs or similar device attached to the raw water pickup.

2.Wait until all water drains from the engine.

3.Wash it with soapy water and rinse thoroughly.

4.Disconnect the fuel hose and run the engine until it stops.

5.Make sure that all fuel is drained from the carburetor so that evaporated fuel doesn't build up deposits.

6.Use fogging oil to lubricate the cylinder walls and pistons.

7.Use water-resistant grease on propeller shaft and threads.

8.Change the gear-oil in the lower unit.

9.Slightly lubricate the engine exterior or polish it with a good wax.
