How do you wire a sony xplod?

Does anyone have a stereo wiring diagram for a Nissan Almera showing the illumination?

RADIO 12V  Blue

RADIO GROUND Chassis Ground

RADIO SWITCH Pink

RADIO ILLUMINATE Yellow/Red

LF SPEAKER (+)Purple   (-)Green/Yellow

Ok. From the looks of it you don't have one. It's not on the chart I have.

All Nissan's Imported to the US after 1995 use this type of harness. Take a look at the link and you'll see. Your harness should look like the second one.

The goo news is You may not need it. First hook up all of the wires, other than the illumination, and turn it on. If you have lights, You're done. Just finish the install like normal. If you don't, just connect it to the 12v Ignition wire (again see the link). All you really need is a switched 12 volt power. With this method you'll lose the dimmer function. But, the lights will work.

I don't know if Clarion is similar to Sony as far as the wiring goes. But, Mine will light without the illumination wire connected. i opted not to use it in my case. Because I didn't want the dimmer.

The only thing worth reading from most of the other posts is to get a harness adapter. They work great and are really cheap.

its really simple......pull out the factory stereo,unplug it and the antanae all the wires are color coded..........red connected to red black to black,yellow to yellow and so on.....just dont let the bare wires touch.......

Don't.  Keep your factory head unit.  The sony isn't worth the time and effort to install it.  If you're dead set on destroying what little sound system you have, go buy a wiring harness and all your problems will be solved.  Probably $12 or so at walmart if you don't have a local shop to buy from.
