How do you wire a telephone jack with 3 separate phone lines?

I have a RJ12 phone jack. I have 3 separate phone lines coming into 1 box that need to be wired to the jack. The phone company said to use only the red and green wires in each line. I have done this, but I only have 2 lines working. I have checked the box outside and it is ok. What am I doing wrong?

  1. Are you using a 6-pin mounting cord? Also swap working line with the one that is not to make sure it is ok inside.

  2. How do you have it wired and what kind of box is it.  Does it have green, red, black, yellow, blue and orange wires inside, or are they blue/white, blue, orange/white, orange, green/white, green, brown/white, brown?  IM me if you want me to walk you through it

  3. See if this works:

Pin 1=Tip, Line 3, Positive wire, Blue

Pin 2=Tip, Line 2, Positive wire, Yellow

Pin 3=Tip, Line 1, Positive wire, Green

Pin 4=Ring, Line 1, Negative wire, Red

Pin 5=Ring, Line 2, Negative wire, Black

Pin 6=Ring, Line 3, Negative wire, White
