the way you work a carolina rig and texas rig is relatively the same, for a texas rig simply let you bait hit the bottom and lift your rod tip about 8 to 10 inches... for a corolina rig you sweep your rod tip (the distance you sweep your rod tip depends on the weather) in very cold weather, sweep your rod tip 6-8 inches in very hot weather 10-20 inches... hope this helps
