hi, i have a problem understanding how these odds add up.

For example in the week i had liverpool to win WHICH THEY DID

Chelsea to draw WHICH they did

the odds were 13/10 and 11/5

i put 2 pound on and got 14.72 back

Can someone please explain how they work out the total i get back? as i have no idea and it would be useful to know b4 placing bets!

  1. Easiest is to add the numbers 13+10 and divide by 10 so you get 2.3, then for the chelsea one you (11+5)/5 = 3.2

    multiply 2.3 x 3.2 = 7.36

then multiply by your stake (£2)

    2 x 7.36 = 14.72

  2. THEY HAVE A GREAT ODDS CALCULATOR HERE :)

  3. If you've done a double multilpy your stake by the odds for the first leg ( 13/10 = 1.3) then add that to your stake as you get that back if you win.

This gives you your stake going onto the second leg.

    (1.3 x 2 = 2.6) + 2 = 4.6.

Then multiply this by the odds for the second leg.

    (11/5 = 2.2)

    So  4.6 x 2.2 = 10.12

    You get your stake back again so 10.12 + 4.6 = 14.72.

Just don't forget that when your bet wins you get your stake back.
