So the school/work week is over, and we all like the idea of sleeping in on the weekends. But, I always mess things up because I do just that. We'll usually sleep in on Saturday, miss breakfast, usually get up close to lunch time. Our daughter will sleep in also, but she'll still wake up before we do (she's three). I've gotten concerned because I wonder if it is bad for her to entertain herself for a couple of hours on weekend mornings? (shes great at it..plays barbies and such). The way I keep our daughter on schedule is let her skip her nap, so she'll still go to bed at a regular time. But does it mess up our health to just eat two meals on Sat and Sun and have such a sleep-in schedule? I wonder if I should just get up at 8 or so and keep our schedule but then I never feel fully rested to begin the work and school week. How do yall do the weekends? Thanks:)

  1. Enjoy it while you can. My boys are 15, 9 and 6 and we have to get up every Sat & Sun for soccer games. I have been so happy the past 3 weeks, we have been in between the summer indoor season and the fall outdoor season and I have got to sleep in!

  2. Everybody has their chores or activities they do on the weekends, if you can get some extra sleep on the weekends then you better take advantage of it. and as far as eating goes unless you are breast feeding and only feeding 2 times a day then whats the problem.  children that can get to the pop tarts wont starve.  maybe you would rather get up early saturday morning and start right on the 8 loads of laundry and start cleaning the house.  oh wait I want 2 eggs bacon taters and coffee and then you can wash the breakfast dishes and at this point I dont even care if your a man im hungry.  lol lol

  3. I do the exact same thing on saturday, but I get up to give her oatmeal or cereal than back to bed I go. I don't think this is really bad to do she needs rest as well.

  4. Have a schedule that works for you! If this is working, then there's no need to fix it!  Its not going to kill her to have 2 meals and a snack on the weekends, just try to get all the food groups in so you know she is getting the proper nutrition.  Every family has a different and unique schedule, and lord knows that mom's need their rest! Good Luck!
