  1. watashi ha anata nashi dewa ikite ikenai.

    私はあなたなしでは生きていけない。

    sumu = to reside

    ikite iku = to remain alive

    So, "sumu" is not suitable in this sentence.


  2. Oops! Thanks Hikari. I edited the phrase to include "ga." (I'm terrible at particles).

    Here it is:

    私はあなたがなしに住むことができない

    Watashi wa, anata ga nashi ni sumu koto ga dekinai.

    This is the literal translation, with the grammar order switched to Japanese (literally. it means I you wihout live cannot do).

    I'm not sure if Japanese people use this expression, though.
