  3. Well, it's hard to just tell someone how to write a poem. It's something that requires a lot of thought and creativity.

What kind of poem are you writing? Free verse, sonnet, limerick, epic, rhyming, etc.

How your poem will be like depends on the poetry style. Different types have different rhythms.

First off, write a list of things that you want to include in your poem about your life: special events, memories, things special to you, etc. You can brainstorm off that list, making the construction of the poem much easier. Poems don't have to be straightforward and absolutely clear like regular writing. It is like painting. The paper is you canvas, the words are your paint, and the pen is your paintbrush. Poetry doesn't necessarily have to contain sophisticated language, just sophisticated style/structure. (Dr. Seuss, for example.)

Just think about your life, make the list, and try to get creative by using similes, metaphors, some imagery, etc. It may not come to you immediately, but if you try hard enough and

A free verse example (sorry for the dark mood):

    Reaper

    That shadow that lingers

    Behind unknowing man

    Waiting, watching

For a moment, a single chance

    To feast upon its choice

To purge the thirst of want and need

To relinquish the anguish of old

Innocent victim of whom I choose

    Cry your farewells

    For I shall show you

    Darkness

Sorry if I wasn't clear, but you can't teach poetry simply by telling someone how it's done. You have to study it for a bit, learn from it, then eventually try it.
