  1. Me do not write song... Me write a poem on something I feel needs to be said. In my opinion, I think that the music itself should not be so difficult to come up with. You usually know how you wanna it sound - sad or happy, fast or slow etc.

    Good luck with your music!!

  2. You just kinda feel it. The lyrics are really easy. Say the whole meaning to your song. Verse-chorus-bridge-verse-chorus-repeat

The sound is hard. Some people are not the type that can discover it. Not only you have to have a mealody that isn't used yet but one that fits the lyrics.

This didn't help much but I tried.

    Good Luck!!!

  3. I take a notebook with me everywhere.  A lot of times, people will say something or do something that really makes you think, and you can turn that little line or action into a song.

One of the most important things is not to push it... a song is always better when it comes to you.  If you feel really strongly about something, had a really good day or a really bad day, that's the best time to write a song.

The other important thing is the "hook."  Most songs need a hook of some kind.  Find something to say that nobody has said before that will catch someone's attention.  Like, in an Alien Ant Farm song, I was floored by this simple line, "I want to be summer but I'm winter.  I wanted to make you spring, but I fall so hard."  It's just a simple play on the seasons, but it really makes you think about how he thinks little of himself and much of the person he loves.

What I do is find my catchy line that will be the basis for my song and then think of a tune for it.  Everything else follows.  Listen to your favorite song and try to see how the songwriter pieces it together and try to write your own song in a similar style.

Writing actual music for it is much harder unless you are skilled at an instrument... I would suggest collaborating with someone.   But if you have a piano, all it takes is playing the melody but varying it a bit, and boom, music.  And if you have a guitar, playing simple chords would be a good start for your first attempt.

  4. Okay think of one subject or theme like love war hate freedom. Sum-thing like that. Then you try to rhyme words cleverly. Like find to words you would never of thought to rhyme to help make it more appealing. After that, Find a chorus to match I would change it up from the main song so it doesn't get boring. Finally, You take the same rhythm pattern from the first verse and make it with different words. Do these techniques as much as you want. Here, here are the links to some of my songs below. THX!
