Question:

How do you write "I love you" in Korean ?

I know that it's pronounced saranghae but I'm sure there's a distinction between a serious "I love you" and a casual "I love you"... but I don't know what that is. Say for instance I have a friend who's feeling down. How would I say "I love you" in a casual friendly way to make her feel better? And what do the characters for that look like?

Thanks in advance!

  1. Saranghae is the most "casual" you can get it.  It's very informal... so you would use that.

    Informal = 사랑해.  (sah-rahng- hae)

    Formal = 사랑해요. (sah-rang hae yoh)

    Most formal = 사랑합니다. (sah-rang hahm nee dah)
