How does A Beka math compare to Saxon math?

I have read several opinions on the internet describing A Beka high school math as very difficult and/or confusing.

ABB math is going to be more colorful, but it was very frustrating for my nieces & nephews.  My sister finally switched to MathUSee [which is what my kids have used for pre-alg, alg, geo, & now alg 2] and had to repeat some things with her kids that they did not catch the first time through with ABB, and they are doing MUCH better.

I don't know anything about a beka math but the saxon math is very thorough and easy to use. We have used it successfully. I have also heard good things about math u see.

Saxon is much better overall for consistent practice of skills.

The seventh grade Abeka Math is also very good.  It is confusing, but it covers things that few other courses cover.  I would use it for a high school elective rather than a seventh grade course though.

I used Abeka K- 5/6 and it was awful.  I was having such a hard time with it that my parents switched me mid-year to Saxon.  Abeka did not have enough review before moving on, new problems where not gone through step-by-step, and my mom didn't like the teacher's key.  Math immediately became easier once we switched, but the damage was already done.  Math continued to give me problems and I really struggled in highschool.  My brother and sister however grew up using only Saxon and are not exactly math whizzes, but they never have problems.  My brother even took all the advanced classes when he attended school.  I'm not blaming it completely on the curriculum, but Abeka never measured up to Saxon in our family.
