My husband and I are awaiting the arrival of our 1st little one in October and we've decided I will stay home instead of heading back to work. My problem is I don't want to not make any money at all or contribute to our household, so I was thinking of looking into AVON. How does AVON work? What costs are there to me? What happens if I don't sell? I'm just looking for general info to give me a better idea of how it works. THANKS!

  1. Hi!

I do avon as a sales leader and rep and I have 2 toddlers at home, it works really well around them as I can take them with me with the buggy etc or when interviewing reps they can come and do colouring in etc while I do a sign up!

Fab job which I love, its a £15 admin charge to start but they only charge you £7.50 over 2 campaigns of books, and you get your first 2 lots of books free, plus free training and advice etc!

If you order over £76 its 20% commission if you order over £144 its 25% I only have a small area but with friends and family my commission is usually about 80 pounds for only about 4 hours work so that's £20 an hour!!

If you want more info or for someone to call to arrange to meet up to talk about it more then please either message me on here or visit my website at www.myavon.co.uk/stephsreps where there is an online application form. Best of luck with baby bump!!x*x

  2. Ok it cost $10 to join avon you will get 2 campaigns of items. You will make 50% on your first 4 orders after that 20-50% depending on your size of order. I have been selling for about 5 months and I love it. For more info e-mail me or go look on my site.

  3. Selling Avon is a great way to supplement your current household income! Me best advice to anyone thinking about joining the Avon family, "it is what you make it!" If you give your all, you will see top dollar, not to mention the rewards. Like any business, if you don't walk the walk or talk the talk, you're not going to get very far! Your brochures are your store. The cost of the brochures are a drop in the bucket, if you know how to listen to your customer and analyze their needs, which lead to a successful close. The demos and the samples, well, you should only purchase what you need! No need to stock pile on them, if they're not featured in the brochure! You should only purchase the highlights - cover page items, new items, or top sellers! I can go on and on... But, if you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact me!

  4. My mum has been doing AVON for 15 years and me just 1 but we have both found it a fantastic opportunity to make a little bit of cash and meet new people.

You will start by paying £15 joining fee which will be taken out of your first two campaigns. You will be assigned an area manager who will then assign you certain streets for you to deliver AVON brochures.

You have to buy the brochures, I think there just over £2 for 5,but your area manager will give you enough to get you started on your first couple of campaigns.

Your earnings all depend on how many customers you have and how much you sell.

If your customers in total spend over £75 in one brochure you will get 10'% which increases dramatically to around 40% when they order over a few hundred.

In total me and my mum have 70 customers and we get just over £100 each campaign but this is not the only job we do so we don't put as much into it as we could. You could end up with a nice little business going.

As a rep you also get discounts on products and chances to get into Presidents club where you save even more money.

Good luck and I hope you do well.

  5. I tried the whole 'selling' thing, Avon & Home Interior, it just wasn't for me. I hate asking people to buy stuff. I’m taking registrations for several companies looking for telecommuters and ‘home workers’. You can work p/t or f/t for all the places I have listed. I’m also registered with all of the companies and know they are legitimate. Please look at the top 5 at http://tinyurl.com/homeoffice

  6. I decided to do the same when I had my daughter. Now 2 1/2 years later I see it was the best decision I could have made. For only $10 I got brochures for the first two campaigns plus all the information to get me started. The Avon rep home page has lots of FREE training courses for all aspects of the business. The costs of brochures are 60 cents a piece for 10 or 19 cents a piece for 100 and ranges in between. You get 50% earnings on the first four orders which go out every two weeks and 20-50% thereafter depending on your order size. As long as you place an order once every six weeks your account will stay active. I would love to answer any other questions you may have and help you get started. Please email me.

  7. If your interested in research Mary Kay I can help you with those facts.  I can only tell you everyone I know that sold Avon said the same thing it was too hard to make money and it was a lot of work.  You have to earn you discount percentage based on what you sell from 20 - 50% plus the catalogs change every two weeks.   If you just want a discount on product then it is worth the $10 to start if you are looking for an income you really need to push.  My mary Kay sales director sold it for years and within a short time with Mary Kay she replaced her full time income and is now driving her 3rd free car.

  8. It costs you 10 dollars to start and you have a discount for all the items you will make money based on what you sell if you don't sell avon will not send you a paycheck you only get what you sell sometimes a customer ask for an item that's $20 avon sell you the item for either $10 or $15 the pays regular price. i sell avon and its not much that i make unless i really go out there and sell plus you have to know a lot of people that's the only way you will make money the more people that buy it the more you get.

  9. I have never done Avon, but from what I hear...

You must make so many dollars in purchueses a year (like 100-200+ dollars every 3 months) if you sell it to other people or not. You pay for everything! those little books Avon people hand out are about 2 dollars each. You pay for your ordering sheets, your demos everything.

You will probably be required to take a class (averging 100-300 dollars, depending on promos at the time) were you will be expected to make a purchuse to start off your invontry.

The worst part is just trying to get customers that are serous buyers.

Before you chose Avon look into the other places that do the same thing. BeautiControl (I like their products the best) Candlelite, Mary Kay, Pampered Chef (very nice stuff as well). There are scrap booking things too like stamp-it-up and things like that (www.scrapbook.com is a great form to ask on) I hear they do very well since its such a fad.

I even saw a design your own purse thing too...but um it wasn't cheep even though the purse was.

Look into things closely, make sure its a commitment you are willing to make, its alot of work for not much money.

Good Luck!  I personally took the route of a very part time job. I make more money then I did with Beauticontrol, even working 10 hrs a week and its alot less work!
