How does Alaska being close to Russia equate with foreign policy?

It doesn't....there's your answer. Sarah Palin comes from a small town where there's no cable network news, just local, and she didn't get her passport until last year at 43 yrs old. She never been to Iraq or Russia or any other foreign country to claim that she has experience on it.

You are the only person who has stated this.  BUT Alaska is boardered by Russia and Canada, and since you brought it up, I am sure that even you have policy with your neighbors on both sides of where you live.  And I might ask, what foreign policy experience does a US senator have?  answer  zippo.

I just realised, McCain wants to use Palin's influence in Alaska to send forces over the straight to Russia!

No, of course not, but, on the other hand, Obama is not competing with Palin, he is competing with McCain, and I fail to understand how any person thinks McCain hasn't the wisdom to perform admirably in foreign policy,  His achievements on the hill, not words and rhetoric, speak volumes.

It doesn't. Maybe she crossed the Bering Strait once. But there are no foreign policy issues between Alaska and Russia. The issues are on a much higher level and very removed from  her

She has negotiated fishing rights with the Russians and oil issues with Canada. Zero-bama has no foreign experience.
