How does Apple manage to project their presentations (updates on iPods, iPhones, Macs, ...) on the HUGE screen as Steve Jobs and other presenters speak in front of it? What kind of projectors/screens do they use so that the projection is made with such clarity?

  1. They are using rear screen projection.  The projector is behind the screen.  The screen is designed for that purpose.   They probably contracted an AV staging and rental company to set up the whole show.

That type of setup is used when a clean look is needed (no visible equipment) and when there is a lot of light in the room.  Rear screen projection is not effected by light as much as conventional front screen projection.
