How does BSJA work?

I think this is quite a general question:) I have a non horsy family so although I have ridden for years I don't know a lot about competing. I have no horse so I can't compete but I am very interested.

1.How does the points system work (I looked on the website but don't know where to find it). Do you get points for every competition?

2. Do all BSJA competitions allow you to qualify for other competitions or are some in different rounds (eg foxhunter round 1, 2 etc) and others just single competitions.

3. What are the different types of competitions (like what is open?)

4. What places do you need to come to qualify for different competitions?

5. On the website it shows the adult novice competitions. What are the other ones or where can I find them?

6. What else might I not know about BSJA?

Thank you for any anwsers.

  1. Check out the BSJA website, it explains it all there.

im no expert but i think that if you win a class thats affiliated you earn a certain ammount of points and qualify for a championship, then if you win that championship you earn more points and go through to a final between the top showjumpers with the most points.

but once again go to www.BSJA.co.uk for more details!

  2. http://www.bsja.co.uk/_pdfs/2007YearBook...

That has all the information you would need. It's ALOT but it'll help in the future. I might be doing BSJA sometime in the future :D

Good luck in the future. :D
