How does Bass fish taste?

I heard so much hype about fishing for them, how do they actually taste when cooked?

  2. My rule of thumb is that the harder they are to catch, the better they taste. :)

    But actually, that's not true. Crappie are usually very easy to catch and taste great!

  7. The care you take of your bass is very important to there taste. After you catch them, fillet them as soon as possible and keep them as cold as possible. Then breaded or battered , fried or deep fried they are great.

  8. It's a flakey white fish and is very mild in flavor when cooked.

    You can batter and deep fry it for fish 'n chips, steam it, panfry, stir fry.  Usually minimal fishy taste.

  9. I prefer saltwater fish over freshwater and coldwater fish over warmwater. Better taste & better texture.

  10. If you are talking about fresh water bass....they are excellent, but sea bass is very expensive and not worth the money.

  13. largemouth bass have an amazing flavour.  the easiest way to cook them is to dip the meat into egg, then milk, then flower.  take the fish fillet and fry in in some cooking oil. a minute or two on each side and your done
