How does Breaking Dawn compare to the other Twilight books?

Question

On the amazon user reviews, it is described as being very different, more disturbing somehow, written differently etc.

Can anyone tell me why? (without spoiling the plot too much!)

Um.

It's BIG.

As in, a very large book.

There's lots of idiocy and pointless drama, as in all the other books.

But I wouldn't say 'written differently'

Disturbing, yes.

omg girl get it! i got it and promised myself i would make it last, i read it in one night. it posseced me. you will be amazed what happens to bella and omg!!! JUST GET IT! DO IT DO IT DO IT! you will regret it if you dont. seriously!

I liked Twilight and Eclipse better, but that doesn't mean this book wasn't awesome. I still loved it, despite some of its flaws. There was a certain spark between Edward & Bella that I saw in Twilight, New Moon (well, the end of it, at least), and Eclipse that I didn't see in this books.

One part did somewhat disturb me, and I was pretty shocked when I read it. It's just unexpected (ha, that's the name of the chapter it all starts in!), and kind of weird.

After something happens to Bella, it sorta seemed like she wasn't herself and I wasn't able to relate as well. Keywords are AS WELL. I could still relate to her, and I could still sense the old Bella in her. It was interesting, though, to read about her after she went through this "stage."

Other than that, it was a great book, and I couldn't put it down! It was well-written, interesting, unpredictable, exciting, and in some parts, very romantic.

It's different

Twilight through Eclipse have a sort of magic to them.  Edward and Bella and her becoming a vampire are still very uncertain.  There's a lot of character development and relationship development.  Bella is also very relatable.  In Breaking Dawn because of something Bella loses some of her relatability.  The characters develop but in different ways.  And it has a shocking factor uknown to the other books.

I didn't like it at first but now I love Breaking Dawn.  It though me but I recovered and realized it gave the most satisfying ending.  Some people didn't recover from the shock and weren't able to accept certain disapointments as I was.

I highly reccomend it, but go into it with an open mind.

first off the whole book wasn't written from Bella's perspective.

second, its just weird and doesn't really have an ending that fits in with the rest of the books (in my opinion at least)

if you like the others you should love breaking dawn its amazing, but it is more graphic but not by much

I would say that the topics are a bit more mature than the first books, and we saw this mature progression in the topics of the Harry Potter books as well! I personally loved the book and found it interesting but I would be worried about the age of the children reading it. Yes, they are large books but my 5th grade class was reading Harry Potter for reading points.

i read all the twilight books in about a week so reading the other three and then reading breaking dawn was a bit different just because breaking dawn seemed to have more drama, it was scarier just because you didn't know how anything was going to happen when in the other books it was a little more predictable and you rarely thought that any of the characters were in the danger of being killed apart from edward in italy and bella in arizona, i thought that it was really suprising but in a good way but it was disturbing on a level that you never thought something like the things that happen could happen. haha it's hard to explain it without spoiling the plot, but i'd have to say it was better in the fact that it kept my attention and even though i didn't really like everything that happened, it was written great, there wasn't a point in time when i had to put it down and be like, wow this totally isn't grabbing my attention. i think you should definately get it!

The characters don't act... in character.  

The plot is... ridiculous.

Disturbing = incubus (sorta) and pregnancy.

A lot of people claim pedophilia, but that's a misunderstanding.  I can't say why without spoiling stuff...

Anyway, I hated Breaking Dawn.  -_-;  I never really liked Twilight that much, but this was the worst.
