How does C.O.D work (with canada post) ?

I was wondering how C.O.D works because i ordered somethign and i have to pay arround 600$ C.O.D. So il just give the money to the mailman and does it have to be cash ? Do i get to open it ? Thanks

They don't let a letter carrier deal with that kind of money.  You will just receive a parcel notice and have to go down to the postal outlet to pick it up.  Luckily, doing that means you are likely able to pay by credit card - most outlets can do that.  Otherwise, have cash, certified cheque or money order.

    You aren't not likely to be able to open it until paid for.  If it is something you have doubts about go ahead and try ask nicely.  The post office is trusting the sender and receiver that this is a done deal, and they want their cash.
