How does California get its rain?

moisture moving in from the pacific ocean pushes against the mountains, rises and hits thecooler atmosphere ,condenses and falls as rain.

Mostly from air masses, partly from the forests transpiration. More forests, specially broadleved in the south and mixed in the north, would make rainfall patterns to increase.
