How do the people in Chinatown get away with selling all their fakes? Is it a series of police shakedowns and bribes, and why does the city look the other way?

Also, is Chinatown and the vendors run by the Triads? Do they make money a la Mafia in Chinatown?

  1. I think it might be shoplifting. I was looking at this dress at Topshop in Oxford Circus in London it was £25 then I went down this back alley to a little shop run by a china man the exact same dress was there but only £10 not a cheap rip off the exact same dress in quality and style but with the label removed.

They've taken over ebay too. Look at all the cheap stuff you can buy and it says from Hong Kong. IF it arrives it takes about 3 weeks and you've gotta be careful of sellers who say there UK based but the items get sent from China.

  2. Its not a problem if their selling fakes for the amount it worth.

If its trying to get away with selling them at brand name prices, then it will become a problem.

  3. Police have better things to do than confiscate cheap Gucci bags from some dirty alley.
