Question:

How does Dettol make clothes smell?

someone suggested i put dettol in my laundry to make the clothes smell fresh, but from my research, it smells like a typical "cleaner/disinfectant". i am looking for something to make my clothes (whether its detergent or rinse) smell like pure soap. maybe a foreign product. does anyone know for sure of any products that will give me that type of smell? not a perfumy typical laundry det. smell. thanks all.

  1. Use a liquid detergent which is non phosphate and also use generic brand white vinegar as a rinse - your clothes will smell lovely and clean with no odours - it also helps rinse excess detergent out of the clothes - leaving them nice and soft and your washing machine will thank you too, as it cleans the insides of pipes etc and keeps it in good condition

Its also kind to the environment so 3 out of 3

    Hope you like my idea

  2. dettol should go in the final rinsing cycle, and should only be a few drops

  3. I only use disinfectant type products now and then to freshen up my machine.

Personally a good quality fabric softener used sparingly leave clothes smelling fresh.

Or if you are also using a dryer you can buy the softener sheets which smell lovely.

    Hope this helps,
