How does Doha differ from Dubai? (vice versa)?

Question

Doha and Dubai are quire promising and rising cities. How do they differ? Culture, manners, heritage, personal relationship, foreigners, etiquette, environment, religion, politics, tourism, etc.

I know you can find these via Google, but what do people think about this?

Sum all those...which country would you think is more promising? Which is better among the 2?

Again, feeding my curiosity. Thanks!=D

if you are out to make quick money, Dubai is better. Doha is more settled, reserve and enlightened in terms of educated population.Dubai is more cosmopolitan and materialistic

I was in Doha (Qatar) and now in UAE, Dubai and Abu Dhabi (Both places)

As per other answerer, Doha is not a country, it is the capital of State of Qatar. And as same Dubai is second largest economy in UAE. Better don't compare Dubai & Doha because entirely different cities... in some means.

Dubai is the investment / business hub of the world now, and bringing more investment. But Doha, going to be the sports hub in the middle east, and they are trying a lot for that. Also presently Doha is the most growing city of Middle East.

Islamic Culture in Dubai & Doha will be almost same but with little differences you may notice if you research in detail. I think by means of tolerence both are same, but here in Dubai you may find a little nationals only.

Obviously, by means of manners, Doha is better than Dubai. Even expats getting more privilages from there.

Heritage is purely Islamic...

Personal Relationship... in detail I dont know, but hopefully it may same in both cities.

% of Forigners are mostly equal or more in Doha, and numberwise Dubai will be topper. But you may able to find all the nationalities in Doha too

Religiouswise also both are same, Religious freedom in both cities are same. same as in Dubai, you may able to find Churches in Doha (Abu Hamour) too. and other religions too.

Environment in Doha & Dubai... you can say same... and whether in Doha is better than Dubai. Pollution, in Doha is high, and the north most of Qatar is more polluted (not in doha city)

Politics... same in Both

Both are under Constitutional Monarchy

In Qatar it is Emir & in UAE (President) Dubai (Sheikhdom/Emirate) under UAE

Tourism

Dubai - Shopping, Other Natural...

Doha - Tourism Industry is not setup well./Promoting tourism less only...But they are trying to do...

I beleive Doha will become No.1 soon in Middle East (as per the current Growth), and State of Qatar (this is the country) not Doha...

Doha got a wider employment chanses than Dubai nowadays and offering more salary packages, and living cost is almost same in both cities.

let me answer u one by one as u have asked

doha is a small country and dubai is a city and emirate and part of larger country UAE.

dubai is more famous then doha for its various world class initiatives and records accomplished

culture is same but more tolerant in dubai for sure.

manners r same may be beter in doha but sure there is much more variety in dubai . and also mixed well.

heritage is local and cant be compared.

personal relations depends on ur exposure . u dotn have to expose them but its more tolarant id dubai.

more foreiners in UAE as far as numbers is concerned. btu % could be same.

religion mor etolerant in dubai as u see various religion practised with the blessings of the rulers peacefully and officially
