I recently started at a community college and I have been awarded 100% tuition. I really dont know how it works so I was wondering when and how do i get bright futures money? I also have a honor's award which would pay for my books and for gas money and such (so I was told). I want to call the school to find out but its closed due to weather(hurricane). So i was wondernig if anybody had experience with Bright Futures. How can I get the money for books and gas and such? Do i need to set up an account? If i dont can i lose the money?

  1. The award (or ineligibility) determination will be posted to a student's Initial Student Florida Financial Aid Application(FFAA) record and is viewable by the student.

    You get :
    • information about the award;
    • instructions regarding how to notify the FDOE of the college the student plans to attend and how to correct any information Bright Futures has on file; and
    • instructions explaining how the student can access his/her Bright Futures record on the Internet.
