How does Gymboree size their clothes?

Question

Most of the Gymboree clothing I see on Ebay is sized 0 -3 months, etc. I saw a piece today at a thrift store that was marked "Medium" (No month size). Do you think this is a fake piece, or if it is real, what would month size would it be equivalent to?

Gymboree has sizes based on age as well as XS-L.  But the XS-L are usually for kids clothing not babies. I'd look to Gymboree for your answer:
