  7. hmmm.... Well Harry and Voldermort's wand have the same core - phoenix feather.  When Harry met Lord Voldermort in the graveyard, there wands connected. And because Harry's wand over powered Voldermorts it embodied properties of Voldermorts. That why when Harry faced Voldermort at the sart of Hallows, it regurgitated a spell that Harry had never cast, but Voldermort had...The wand was a good wand, but it was only exceptionally powerful against Voldermort!

Im not sure if I answer your Question, But I think the best person to ask is Dumbledore. I doubt Ollivander will know because he couldnt explain why Harry wand acted of its own accord!

  8. Actually no it doesn't.  Magic is just another form of energy, and haven't we found ways of harnessing a lot of different types of energy?  I actually believe that we (humans that is) used to be able to manipulate the energy that is so often referred to as magic, to do all of the things that we are trying to figure out how they were done (building of the pyramids is an example), but as science grew, things that involved a little less science and more, for lack of a better word, faith were forgotten.

In reference to the wand itself.  Harry's wand was made out of willow and phoenix tail feather.  Voldemort's was yew and phoenix tail feather. and the list goes on.  Each wand was made out of a specific wood.  The ancient celts believed that trees were as alive as humans, and by communing with the trees they discovered answers to many of their questions.  So it would make sense that to a certain extent, trees carried that kind of energy in them, and that is what the celts connected to.

The cores of the wands all came from various magical creatures that knew how to manipulate certain aspects of magic from birth.  The dragon could breathe magical fire, the unicorn was basically nothing but magic, and the phoenix was thought to be born with the ability to live for thousands of years by rebirth from the ashes.

In essence, thermodynamics actually helps to explain how Harry's wand works, as long as you view magic as a kind of energy.

    Hope that helps

  9. It just how they wanted the movie to go and that when Voldemort gave Harry the scar some of his power went to Harry so thats why that wand from voldemorts brother thats why thats the best wand for Harry.
