I have to write an essay on this over the summer, and I don't know how to begin. I just need a place to start, it's really confusing!

  1. I just watched the most recent BBC movie version of Jane Eyre (which I loved) so decided it was time I read the book.

As for your essay, what was most important to Jane?  (hint: something she didn't have at the beginning of the novel and something she did have at the end.) That is the place I would begin.

  2. She doesn't really change. She gets more confident and more wise about the world. It's really Mr Rochester that goes through the big transformation. He realises that he can't manipulate life to benefit himself.

  3. It is more than half a lifetime since I read Jane Eyre, and I really cannot remember specific details of the novel other than very generally.  However, these sites should help you with your work with it.
