    Sociology is the study of complex societies like ours, since sociologists break it down into component parts, and study some narrow aspect.

    Anthropologists study whole societies, so they generally study more simple (aboriginal, aka primitive) societies.

    by the way, anthropology does NOT just examine "primitive peoples" (molly)
