How does Lalit Modi personally benefit from IPL. It can't just be his salary and remuneration as commissioner?

As he claims I don't believe all the money will go to infrastructure development. Does he think he can remain the boss of BCCI/IPL forever and change rules to pocket some wealth later on? Obviously the players won't revolt, because they are getting paid way over for the work they will be doing.
