How does Misa Amane die in Death Note?

Question

She is a character from this anime called "Death Note". If you never watched or read about it then don't bother answering this question. Anyways I finished the series just yesterday and yes I was very depressed Light Yagami died R.I.P and now he's going to nowhere not heaven or h**l. I gotta admit I almost cried for a bit =/ but I heard that Misa dies and the anime doesn't clearly show how she dies. Im guessing she commited suicide because she was shown standing behind a railing on a tall building or structure on the very last episode after Light dies. Can someone explain to me how or if she really died?

Light turns into a Shinigami actually. In the live movie though and yes, but Misa dies in the live movie, not the anime, I believe. She might have committed suicide though like you said. There's a big chance, but I guess they didn't show it.

EDIT: Sorry, I heard it from a friend. I actually didn't watch the live movie. My friend told me all the details. I guess she lied. -_-

light does NOT become a shinigami.  He goes to MU (nothingness) so don't listen to the other user.

Also, I can't remember reading it, but I think in vol. 13: How to Read it sas she died on valentine's day so we assume she committed suicide.  It didn't say how she died.

Also, if I were you, I would read the manga.  It's ending is 992388923498x better than the anime.

edit: Ok, I went and looked in vol. 13 how to read to be sure, and this is what it says

"Why didn't Misa appear in the final chapter?  Again, I just couldn't come up with a situation to put her in.  Misa had lost her memories as kira but still loved light.  And because those who use the notebook suffer misfortune, someone like Matsuda had probably let it slip that Light had died.  Misa then fell into depression and committed suicide...something like that."  

In her profile, it says her death day was: " 2/14/2011" so yeah, most likely suicide.

Misa falls into despair after someone "like Matsuda" "probably let it slip" that Light died.[7] Misa commits suicide one year later on February 14, 2011. However in the english anime Light dies on January 28, 2013, and the year of her death is not made clear. The cloaked woman who appears at the end of the manga is not Misa, she is an unnamed follower of Kira.

At the anime's finale, Misa's suicide is not specifically mentioned nor seen. Misa appears standing outside the safety rail on the edge of a skyscraper looking into the sunset dressed in a maid's outfit. It is ultimately left to the viewers' imagination to decide what she did from there.
