How does NiMH recycling actually work?

Question

There is a lot of info about where to recycle them, but what is the process they are recycled by? This is for a school project so some source citations would be great.

Use the word 'process' in your search. Do some of that research digging yourself. ;) Here's one description in pdf-read down about 7 pages to see a step by step process--complete with nifty diagrams. Sometimes if you contact companies they will send you literature as well.
