When he wasn't even in the Senate yet to vote on it? I mean, everyone else he from his party voted for it, so I'm supposed to believe he would have voted against? Since we'll never know, shouldn't we just leave it at that?

  1. Because he was.

  2. Have you noticed all the "questions" here are just biased comments?

  3. maybe because like everyone else he believes that war started because of oil and because america couldn't mind their business

  4. First off he was in the state senate and he opposed the war and secondly majority of democrats opposed the war with exception of few so the honest urge would be that don't spread lies

  5. Because there is nothing written in stone.  This guy is almost as dirty as the clintons and as slick as they are too.

  6. He stated he was against it before it happened.  He has kept that message consistently.

  7. You don`t have to be in the Senate to be against the Iraq war in the first place. It shows that he had the smarts to see a bad decision.

  8. I know. It's easy to say you always against something when you never had a stake in it to begin with. Just like voting "present".

  9. Because Dems NEVER hold their own responsible for anything they say.

  10. Because he said it way back in 2002: "Senator Barack Obama (D-Il) delivered these passionate remarks opposing the Iraq War, in October 2002 at the Federal Plaza in Chicago".

Just because a bunch of senators, scared to death by the lies of Bush, Cheney and the National Security Advisor, voted for the war, doesn't mean it was the right thing to do.  Remember, even the Republicans and Bush were wrong, even though Bush said he was guided by God.  I guess God told him the wrong thing to do.

  11. NO.

  12. I am against the war in Iraq and has never or will never ever be part of the senate...

  13. Personally, he can be against it, But he is also representing his constituency.  They might not want him to vote against the war.  He solves this conundrum by voting 'present.'  It shows he's doing his job but doesn't have the balls to vote his conscience.

The fact that he voted 'present' so often also shows, to me, that he won't represent his constituency before himself either.  Neither does it make me confident that he will make decisions in the country's best interest if elected President.

  14. Obama has been consistent in opposing the Iraq war, in word and in deed.

What we're seeing, is that this election is about oil. McCain being for it, Obama being against it. That fits the description of how the two candidates stand on the war. And I don't think oil and the Iraq war are unrelated, do you??

McCain/Palin are taking the fight to oil resources (Iraq, Russia),

Obama/Biden are taking on Al Qaeda via Afghanistan and Pakistan, and Diplomatic, multi nation pressure on Iran.

here's some solid evidence, the Democrats vs Big oil. it's the closest to real information that you're going to find, because it's direct from the horse's mouth, under oath, and both sides contend the other is dishonest. it's up to you to determine which side you believe. but it's hard to ignore motive, when it's coming out of Sarah Palin's mouth.

  15. I like watching folks backpedal. You could just admit you messed up here.

  16. I DONT KNOW EITHER.IT REALLY HARD TO FIND OUT ANYTHING ABOUT OBAMAS POLITICAL HISTORY AND EXPERIENCE.MAYBE BECAUSE HE DOESNT HAVE ANY.

  17. He made a public statement denouncing it. Not the same as voting against it, but if you make a statement against it, chances are you're gonna vote against it.

  18. BARACK OBAMA HATES WHITE PEOPLE

  19. He voted against continuing in Iraq after he was in the Senate.  He did however vote for legislation that was to help the soldiers.
