The first round is in 'pool play" similar to round-robin.  From there a set number of top teams are placed in bracket seedings.  Once in brackets, it is win to move on.  This format allows teams to have a minimum number of games before having to leave the tournament.

wow i know those answers were confusing lol so let me explain in simple terms....

there is 2 groups (A&B)

u have to play everyone in ur group once then 4 teams in each group with the best record move on to face each otha n afta dat its like process of elimination....

when u have four teams left there are 2 games 1&2 3&4

3&4- who ever wins get the bronze n loser gets nothin

1&2- winner gets gold loser gets silver....

i hope i  explained it more clearly... lol

The first round is a Pool-play similar to a round robin. Each team plays 1 game each day for 5 days. The top 4 from both groups (8 total) advance into the quarterfinals. The 4 Winners of the quarterfinals matchups move onto the semifinals. The 2 winners of those games move to the finals playing for the gold and silver medals and the losers play for the bronze.
