How does PeerGuardian 2 work?

What does it block and will it block what you want it block instead of others??

What it will do is check IP addresses that are trying to send items to you or receive items from you.  Then it stores a huge list of "bad" IP addresses and if it matches the IP address of a "bad" group then it will notify you on the monitor.

Really not all that high-tech, but it's a HUGE lifesaver!

PeerGuardian is a powerful, yet small firewall program that was especially designed for P2P users who want to protect their computers from unauthorized searches instigated by private agencies and corporations.

It uses multiple, categorized lists and you can choose which type of site(s) you want to block, including spyware/malware related, advertising related, P2P file sharing related and more. The lists are maintained and updated by a community and you can automatically have the program download the latests lists, and also create your own based on your personal blocking preference.
