Question:

How does Plate Tectonics contribute or cause global warming?

I need evidence to back up that plate tectonics (continental drift) processes can cause global warming. I need to find plate tectonics forces that have nothing to do with humankind that is contributing to global warming. Much of what I have found is how plate tectonics can cause cooling of the earth rather than warming it. I need help researching this as I am not having much luck. I have found that ocean currents and volcanoes actually cool the earth rather than warming it.

Whether I believe humankind is causing global warming or not, is not important in this research.

  1. There is no evidence about this - I think the scientists are deliberately ignoring this?

You do know about the Pacific Ring of Fire?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_Rin...

    - The map does not show the complete ring in the Antarctic region - but the web page talks about this at the bottom.

Now compare this web page with the Ring of Fire:

    http://coralreefwatch.noaa.gov/satellite...

    - = 6+ degree Centigrade difference is HUGE in sea temperatures.

This hot ocean temperature could be a very large amount of CO2 emitted/out gassed from the oceans!

    What do you think?

  2. Plate movements can cause volcano's which sprew millions of tons of soot into the atmosphere which helps contribute to the "Greenhouse effect" causing warming.

  3. it contributes by making volcanoes erupt and the volcanoes release ash that makes the ozone hole bigger and letting more gamma rays from the sun enter the earth and making it hoter and that is known as global warming
