  1. We are an un incorpored territory of the USA.

Also we are a organized territory of the USA.

As other territories, like US Virgin Island or Guam,  we use the USA flag and our own PR flag.  Our flag  has 5 stripes: 3 red, 2 white; 1 white star on a blue triangle.

Some of us want you to have a new flag with 51 starts on it, for example with 3 rows of 9 stars, and 3 rows of 8 stars.

  2. Yes, we have the American Flag. This is because of the Spanish-American war, the American won and Puerto Rico became a territory of the United States. We still are Territory-Possession of the United States. When the Americans began comming in later of 1898 and on forward, the teachers, doctors and all professionals were Americans. Also the first governor of Puerto Rico under the United States was appointed by Congress of the United States.

Congress has the say over Puerto Rico. What goes on here, they decide. Yes, we do have a Constitution, but it is basically written like the Constitution of the United States and states that Puerto Rico will uphold, deffend and obey the Constitution of the United States.  Here we have our laws, but also based on the law of the United States.

The American Flag here is present in every government building on the Island and at the National Cemetery here. Also in the schools.

I pray that soon Puerto Rico will be a State and have it's star on the flag. As of now, yes, there is a group organized to see Puerto Rico be State 51. Oh, and yes, we do use the American dollar, have schools here such as St. Johns that is All American and the American Military Academy and many more schools in English. There are also buisnesses, restaurants, stores and products here. Recently Best Buy was inaugurated. So, if you ever come, don't worry no need to use passport if you were born in the USA all you need is a valid ID with a recent photo such as drivers license, voters card, military card any card with a recent photo and not yet expired and you do not have to change currency we do use and have the dollar.

  6. because puerto rico its a common wealth, we are not a state, but we are affiliated with the USA, meaning, we receive benefits, and have the right to US citizenship, like Americans do, we are kinda like if we were a state, but not completley. so we represent the flag of the USA, because we are US territory. we are like guam. didn't u notice we use american dollars, same currency value?

  7. Um... yeah, so? That is not a big deal. They also have the puerto rico flag if you didnt know! Hello, its a territory, its gonna have both flags in places like the post offices and stuff.

Its like, go to New York or Miami. All you see is puerto rico flags and cuban flags. With the stripes and everything.

    I'm not kidding.

  8. Puerto Rico is entitled to display the United States flag, because Puerto Rico is a United States Commonwealth (or possession), just like the U.s. Virgin Islands and a few others.

The citizens of Puerto Rico are considered United States citizens, they pay Federal taxes and vote for President.

  9. It's considered part of the U.S.
