How does Titanic captain, got the wrong Information?

At that time, radio operator didn't receive the signal of getting southerlies, and the information of the iceberg current. So why the heck is the Radio Operator gone?

  1. The Titanic did know about the Icebergs in it's area. The problem was that the ocean was dead calm thus the iceberg was invisible at a distance as there was no wave the break on it's sides had there been rougher seas this disaster wouldn't have happened. As for the radio operator he was very busy with bogus messages coming and going to various passengers proper radio etiquette hadn't been invented yet so a lot of the time a radio operator was handling bogus messages for passengers.


  2. Apparently rogue icebergs are still a thing of danger.

    The Titanic didnt have sophisticated sonar on board like most ships of today to detect the iceberg, just look outs. Because the ship wasnt very manourverable like todays ships and was at full steam at night, the posted lookouts didnt see the iceberg whose main mass was submerged under water, till the last minute.

    What ultimately killed all those people was the freezing cold water and lack of life boats.
