How does Vista Gift Card Work?

Ok I am thinking about getting a Vista Gift Card from walgreens. When you go to purchase it, do you just give them the amount of money you want to put on it? After buying it, is it just like a credit card where i can go to a store and they can swipe it? Can I use it online? Thanks!

You hand the cashier the card and give her the amount you want placed on the card.  Say 100    That is what you can spend and yes even on line.  But keep careful records of your spending.  You do not want the embarrassment of being turned down because the card is almost empty
