  1. vongage offers unlimited local and long  distance calls only within the continental united states, if she is in uerope no thr call is not free

  2. No matter where in the world your friend uses her Vonage service, her number stays the same and as long as the area code of her telephone number is local calling for you, then no extra charges apply.

  3. Yes, if you also "pay" to get a Vonage account.

    That said,

ALL VoIP services offer Free In-Network calling.

In-Network calling is when both people have accounts with the same VoIP service....... they ALL offer this.

If you want absolutely FREE calling between friends world wide, then any of the following VoIP services allow you to talk PC-PC free anywhere in the world, anytime.... free.... no money to spend up front..... as long as you have a PC, Internet,  and a headset:

    Google Talk

    Skype

    Gizmo Project

    MediaRing Talk

    CallCentric

    and, many others....

  4. if you travel then just take the little gizmo-like V-phone from vonage with you....!

    http://www.vonage.com/device.php?type=VP...

but if you need it only for travel then the MagicJack is much cheaper!!!

    http://magicjack.com/site/index.html

    its only 19.99 per year....
