How does Xanax make you feel?

i was just PRESCRIBED Xanax BY MY DOCTOR for my ocasional panic attack feeling episodes, when it comes to taking something new i am kindof a freak about knowing how its supposed ot feel (it took me 2 weeks to take my first adderall after i got it). anyone have expierence besides those using it for recreation that can tell me what to expect? (i have .5 mg)

It will make you sleepy at first. Once you build a tolerance, the drowsiness won't be as bad.

if i were you i would take 1/2 of a pill the first 3 times (sometimes you don't feel the first one) AND make sure that it is during rthe onset of a panic attack, because that is why they were given to you. They will probably feel a bit like a couple of stiff drinks to you but with less emotional influence and you will feel a warmth in your abdomen. They are a good drug for stress related conditions but are easily addictive and if you take too strong of a dose they cause abberant behaviors. Good luck and if at all possible seek a way to deal with your condition naturally, as any drug will hurt your body eventually.

It's supposed to make you feel happy and is misused by a lot of people.  Especially rapper Lil Wayne, who overdoses on those all the time.  You'll only feel happy nothing else.  If you want more info you can type xanax into wikipedia they'll tell you all you want to know and more.

I've been taking Alprazolam (generic) for about 5 years .25mg. I usually take two if I am going to meetings or into crowded shopping areas , like grocery stores.

As long as taken as prescribed you should start recognizing less anxiety rather quickly.

I am really surprised a Doctor now days would prescribe Xanax to anyone under 30 due to abuse.

Avoid taking more than you really need, this med is addicting.
