  1. You have a choice of using an avatar from http://avatars.yahoo.com or the picture on http://360.yahoo.com

To have a full size avatar you must create one and then put it on the 360 site as a picture.

    1.  First go to this page and download a large jpg avatar to your computer.

    http://avatars.yahoo.com/download.html

    2.  Crop the picture to eliminate space around avatar. The more you remove from the sides, the longer it will be.

    3.  Create a Yahoo 360 account if you don't have one. You can get one at http://360.yahoo.com . Click on the "My Page" tab and then "Edit Personal Photos". You are allowed to put four pictures there by following the instructions. Mark the one you want to use as primary.

    4. Now save everything and go back to Yahoo Answers. Click on your old avatar in Yahoo Answers which brings you to your profile. Now go to "Edit My Info". You can pick the picture there to use.

  2. UPDATED:

Yes, you have the avatar head. If you want your entire Yahoo! Avatar image to show on Y/A, then you will have to download the full image from the Avatars site, upload it as an image on your 360 personal profile pic section, choose to use that image in Yahoo! Answers, and wait for the system to recognize the change. Make sure that you use the same Yahoo ID for Y!360 as you do for Y!Answers.

STEP #1: Go to http://avatars.yahoo.com . On the right side of the page in the blue box, click the "Export" link. At the top left of the page, click the "Download" link. Choose the Large Avatar JPG version of the image to download to your hard drive.

STEP #2: Go to your 360 space. If you haven't started one yet, then while logged into a yahoo service (mail, answers, whatever), type 360.yahoo.com in your web browser's address field (or just type 360 in a Yahoo! toolbar). Start creating your 360 space from there. Click the BIG YELLOW "Get Started" BUTTON on the far right section of that page. When you're done, click the "Yahoo! 360 Home" link at the top right of the page to get into your space.

    - Click your "My Page" link at the top of your 360 space

    - Click "Edit Profile Photos" over the empty picture frame

    - Click "Browse" and upload your avatar JPG image into an empty field. Then click the "use as primary" radio button on the right of that full avatar image before clicking the "Save" button on the module.

NOTE: The personal picture module is buggy, so you may not be able to upload an image there anyway. Just letting you know. If you can't upload an image there, then you can't do what you're asking.

STEP #3: Come back to Yahoo! Answers. Click the "My Profile" link to the upper right of this Yahoo! Answers page, then click "Edit My Info" in the top left box on the Answers profile page. Scroll down to the image section and check the option of showing the 360 picture. Click Preview and then the OK button.

NOTE: The image may not show up right away in Y/A, as it sometimes take days (even weeks) for the system to catch up. You will have a grayed out unisex avatar or old image while you wait.
