  1. Zeus receives power from offerings...It's said in the story of when Hades took Demeter's Daughter to the underworld to have as his wife. Demeter cursed the Gods by making the land bare and if there was nothing for the mortals to offer like wheat or cattle then the gods would become weak! This too is the reason we have fall and winter because in the end Demeter has to live with her daughter being with hades so when she goes to the underworld everything dies with her!

  2. His father, Chronos had 3 sons: Zeus, Hades, and Posidon. The world was divided between the 3 of them, giving Zeus the sky, Posidon the sea, hades the underworld. Because Zeus was the god of the sky, he became all powerful.

  3. Basically, his parents were powerful giant gods, so his power is hereditary, also he and his brothers battled and defeated the titans so they took over.

  4. zeus got his lightning bolts as a gift from three giants he freed. and he didn't get his powers. hades, poseidon, and zeus picked straws to see who would be ruler.

  5. good question. go to mount Olympus for the answer.

how are we suppose to know it's not like we live with the guy we just know detail from folktales.
