ok I work with a bank and one of my co-workers (who is 25, single parent) is always talking about her party nights and party weekends...she has a 5 year old little girl and i was wondering to myself I'm only 22 with no children i work and go to school and even then i feel as if I have not time to party cause id rather catch up on some sleep... let alone if I had a child I would want to spend my days off with her and sleep at night with her rather then be drinking out at some bar every single weekend? As a parent who is your opinion?

I understand its okay if she gets out once in a while but everysingle weekend?????

  1. she could have a nanny or a babysitter.

    duh

  2. Boy you're not judgemental are you?  She has the right to go out Saturday nights.  She isn't hurting YOU is she?  She probably gets a babysitter for the evening.  What's it to you?  Are YOU paying HER bills?

  3. well she obviously has someone that can watch her baby while she's out (parents, ex, whoever), and maybe she doesn't work as hard as you do and maybe she doesn't go to school.

Sounds like you have a heavy workload... her kid probably goes to school now so her life is just different than yours

  4. I agree with you.  She should not be partying *every* weekend.  I'm thinking she doesn't spend much time with her child.  Sad.

  5. Well, it's easy to be judgmental and say that she is a bad mother, but without vital details it is hard to make that call. Does she live alone , or with her parents? is the little girls father, or fathers family, in the picture at all? Is she partying all weekend at bars or a friends bar-b-que, or camping trip with other friends with kids? She could be going out after her little lady is in bed, and her daughter never evn knows that she is gone. Without specifics it is difficult to say "Oh, she is just a bad mommy,"

  6. I have known people like that. They drop their kid off at their parent's all the time and go do what they want.

  7. If she's going out on weekends after her daughter is asleep (with a trusted babysitter there in case of emergency), it's really no different than if she was home when her daughter is asleep.  It's not something I'd have energy, money, or inclination towards (that was never a draw for me even before I had kids), but it certainly doesn't automatically make her a bad parent.

If she's coming home drunk and then being the only adult on-duty, then that's a problem.

  8. She wasn't ready to be a parent I guess.  My dd is 6 months old and I still haven't been out and probably won't for a long time to come.

  9. she does it because she likes being with people her age and has the money and the time and the babysitters.

  10. if she actually does do that she is probably a horrorible mother

  11. well she must have alot of help ; i am 22 single parent and i rarely get out.... i wish i could get out more ... im in school and i work full time ,..... i dont know how she does it... i do agree that she needs some alone party. fun time but when does she spend time with her child? she will pay for it later....!!!

  12. She probably has a friend or parent that doesnt mind babysitting the kid all of the time.

  13. No idea!!

I am a 28 year old single mum with 2 kids (they are so gorgeous!) and i cant go out partying every weekend because:

    a) i cant afford it

    b) i dont really enjoy partying

    c) i dont have any one to look after my kids!

  14. I think she needs to put her partying days behind her.  She is a mother and needs to act like one.  Her daughter should come first.

  15. She shouldn't.

  16. Did you ever stop to think that maybe the DAD has her daughter on the weekend, or maybe she lives with her parents.  In ANY case, it is truly NONE of your business.  It sounds to me as if you need to get your own life instead of spending so much time worrying about what everyone else does.
