I've only recently thought about really trying to find my birth parents, especially my mother. But I have no idea how the system works. I would like to know if anyone else has been in my situation and whether they've had any success? and if they don't mind sharing some advice on the subject that would really help too.

  1. i would suggest a DNA test onlyif u have enough money if not then look at your origanal birth cirtificit and look up the last name in the phone book that or u cood find out wut hospital u were born in then tell them your birth day then they will be able to see who gave birth that night or day. i hope i helped.

  2. Are you still in the UK?

UK adoption records are open to anyone born after 1976.  The laws changed slightly but still much easier than in the US.  If living in another country you can still have the records open but just a little more work.  All of the UK birth indexes are available online for a fee.

  3. finding your REAL parents, well i am adopted, my REAL parents raised me, my bio parents did not, as an adopted person i cannot believe you use this wording that is so offensive to adopted people, i have 6 adopted siblings, my brothers are my real brothers and my sister is my real sister, are your parents fake

  4. Two ideas to locate your birth parents.

First, seek out adoption registries that are designed to reunite adopted kids with their birth families.

Second, if that doesn't work...hire a private investigator & go with the information you already know & see what can be found.
