  1. Corporate sponsors and television rights.  Look at the name of the tournaments.  Mercedes Championship, Buick Invitational, Accenture Match Play, AT&T Classic, etc.

  2. The Sponsers (for example, The Verizon Heritage - Verizon paid a ton of money just to get their name in the title of the tournament). The smaller sponsers donate too, like the ones who have their name on the water bottles or on the back of a phamplet you get.

The attendance - the people that come to the tournament and buy the tickets (it usually only comes from pre-bought tickets)

TV Networks - like the station weither its NBC, ABC, CBS, ESPN... that is carrying the tournament.

  3. sponsors

  4. Depends on what level of golf competition you are talking about. At the tour level, the money mostly comes from sponsors (think about it as advertising). On the local level, it can come from sponsors and from the entry fees from the golfers themselves.

  5. Sponsors

    Attendance

    TV Networks

  6. sponsors, people who go to watch and dickheads like me who have to pay to enter the events lol

  7. In PGA events, they get money from the main sponsor, that's why you hear about the Doral Ryder Open....Ryder paid about a few million to attach their name to the tourney and you usually see their commercials during the broadcast.  They also get money from spectators who pay about 20 to 30 dollars a day to view the event.
