How does a bankers draft work?

i have just sold an item on ebay to a lady in germany, and she wants to pay by bankers draft!??

how does that work? she says she needs my bank details?

is this a safe method of paying someone?

    The person paying by bankers draught DOES NOT need your bank details. STOP THE SALE NOW.

    A bankers draught is a cheque issued by the bank at the request of the account holder, it's merely a way of guaranteeing the funds are in place. The draught is then posted to you, not your bank.

    I smell  the smelly smell of something that's very smelly, probably a scam.

    Well done, I've used draughts on many occasions and this sounds highly irregular, it may be all above board, but on the face of it I wouldn't go ahead.


  2. Certainly- you cannot get a bankers draft without the money being there in your bank and its as good as cash. However, why not get her to pay via bank transfer instead - quicker and easier!
