How does a block schedule work?

Just explain it simply, I'm gonna be starting High School and my jaw dropped when i looked at the bell schedule..

block schedule means you have your classes every other day meaning that they will be longer, instead of one hour every day it will be about 2 hours every other day

There are different types of block scheduling.

I know theres one where they have four classes one day and four the next day then it goes on like that. Theres also one where you have four classes one semester, then four classes the next.

Its best you ask the school you're going to.
