Question:

How does a car's gear system work?

I 've recently learnt driving. Since I live in a very congested area I have to navigate through heavy traffic that includes all kinds of vehicles.. basically really bad traffic! The maximum speed I can drive is 60km/hr. My average spped would be around 35 to 40km/hr. So my question is how should I manage the car within this speed with a manual grear system?

How should I determine when to change from the 2nd to the 3rd gear? Does it depend on my speed or my acceleration? Do I have to change to a lower gear every time the car slows down and why?

Does the car burn more fuel when it works on a lower gear and higher speed?

Why does the car start stalling when the speed is very low? how should i move the car when I'm in a bumper to bumper situation?

ANd does the car burn more fuel if i use the clutch too much?

  1. How should I determine when to change from the 2nd to the 3rd gear? When the engine gets loud (high revs)

Does it depend on my speed or my acceleration? Speed

Do I have to change to a lower gear every time the car slows down and why? Yes, there is not enough power to pull off in 3rd gear, the car will stall

Does the car burn more fuel when it works on a lower gear and higher speed? Yes

Why does the car start stalling when the speed is very low? There is not enough torque/power to move the car

how should i move the car when I'm in a bumper to bumper situation? Don't, let someone else move, its not your fault.

ANd does the car burn more fuel if i use the clutch too much? No, aslong as you are not on the gas.
