How does a car fan belt work (functions) and what are the advantages to using one?

do you have a fan in your house turn it on stand in front of it  then step off to side so it is not blowing on you  you will under functions  then look at the fan on parents car then you will under stand what the belt does & look up cooling systems on net or in libary
