I know there are 800 pours in the shell of the egg to alow oxygen in and carbon dioxide out, but this only works when the chick is fully formed. SO when it is still forming inside the egg, how does it breath?

  1. Perhaps it doesn't need to, just like a human fetus. Gets all of it's nutrients from the yolk. Perhaps the yolk also absorbs oxygen through the porous shell.
