  1. Bats are Mammals, therefore, most give live birth. The only egg-laying mammals are the Monotremes, like Duck-Billed Platypus or Echidna.  Bats give live birth where the baby bat is born with a placenta still attached, just like humans.  The baby is born while the mother hangs upside down and it clings tightly to her.  In some bats the mother will carry it around as she flies.  Most bats just have one baby, but occasionally two.  The baby nurses from the mother just like "all" Mammals.

Bats mate while hanging upside down too.  The male just crawls onto the female, while they're both hanging there, and they mate.

Bats are wonderful animals, and they do our world a great deal of good in helping to keep it healthy and strong.  Insect-eating bats eat their own weight in insects every single night.  Bats eat tons, yes tons, of insects every night.  If it were not for bats, we would be overrun by things like Mosquitoes, Gnats, Moths, Crickets, Termites, Flies, etc, etc. They are also a great boon to the forests of the world in helping the trees to propagate.  They also pollinate flowers as the nectar-feeding bats feed on flower nectar.

Most people misunderstand bats, and some even do terrible things to them, but if they took the time to learn about them their fear and hatred would vanish.  Bats bring beauty, grace, and fascination into our lives.

  2. Bats are mammals, they give birth to living young and they breast feed.
